At least you can swap left to right. I dumped Bridgestone's RE970AS because of the unidirectional pattern and awful treadwear cdue to the design. The noise and the drop in performance were awful, not to mention they aren't nearly as good in light snow as the 960AS was.
As for the original post, keep in mind that any KBB or NADA valuation is based on the car, it's trim, mileage (to an extent) and it's condition. The original owner may think that the cat-back exhaust, suspension modifications and cold-air intake warrant a few extra dollars and you might too - but it doesn't make a difference to KBB/NADA. Consequently, the bank won't care either when it comes time to get a loan.
