2007-2009 Navigation Update is out and way overpriced

I just got my notice that the much anticipated update, HDD Version 8.2, is finally available. The price for the update - a whopping $190.00 PLUS whatever your dealer charges to install it once you get your decoder ring from Navteq. All I can say is that after paying $2k for the option, another $250++ is more than I'm willing to pay. The original version works good enough.

I couldn't even get a good quote for the install from the dealer. What I think really sucks is the old one was so out of date when it came out for my area. If it was up to date then most of the points for this area would still be for the areas I go to. I have an after market unit in my other vehicle that I purchased a good 8 months or so earlier then the G (July 08 for the G) that is more up to date.

Personally I think they should have given at least 1 or two free updates for new car purchases.
