Post

Hi,

Im in the process of fitting a Procharged, stock VQ35DE rev up (2006) into a single seater race car in the UK. (should only be 630kg finished! :-) ).

The aftermarket ECU that i am using does not have the facility to operate the VVT's. (not too bothered though as the Procharger will more than make up for it)

I know that the Inlet oil operated VVT when un-connected looses a small percentage of power at certain RPM's, thats fine...........

What i would like to know, if anyone can help, is;

1. Will the engine run at all with the electronic EXHAUST VVT un-connceted? (have had the covers off of the engine but am struggling to work out exactly how it works?)

2. If so, how much of a power loss and at what kind of RPM's?

3. Would it still be fairly safe to rev the engine to about 7200rpm?

Many Thanks in advance for any answers to this posting,

CS

Does anyone out there have a 2006 vq35de rev up car that can try unplugging the exhaust vvt's (green and blue plugs) to see what power loss they get?

Would be much appreciated,
