I got the P1757 and P1759 codes which has been traced to the valve body. The dealer claims that the part must be programmed by them. The transmission folks claim that the system has a 'learning' feature that will program the system by driving the vehicle. Big difference in installation cost. Dealer $1080 to install...transmission guy $350. Who is correct? The part is costing $1,137.72 from dealer. I need to save money if possible. Thanks in advance.

could be faulty parts in the valve body. always side with the dealer on things relating to power train.

could be the TCM, BCM, or wiring issues that a local mechanic cant find/solve.

then you end up spending more money and downtime as the 3rd party mechanic tries to find the issue.

the trans will indeed learn your habits as you drive, but this will not erase any codes. you most likely have something else going on.

since you have a 2006 model, search here or the internet for "ecm learning procedure nissan armada". it involves petrol pedal presses and key on/off ignition procedures that you can do in less than 5 minutes. you can also just remove the battery cables and let the car site for about 15 minutes. this will clear any learning from the BCM/TCM but will also lose radio presets, seat presets, clock, etc, so think about that as you consider this option.

you can also search for titan of the same years as they are all the same WRT this type of issue.

Thanks for the excellent answer!! I just found this site and can't believe the quality of information. I will follow your advice and let the dealer take care of it. Thanks again!
