I know a lot have done this but I have been searching and it was not that easy to find the info so I wanted to post up for any new person wanting to do this to their QX

This will work on the 2007 but the wire might be a different color but I think it's in the same location on the connector.

Radio shack switch (275-0693)

Move the pass seat all the way forward, go to the rear pass door and remove the cover plastic (2 screws) piece that goes over the navi unit.

Look at the connector on the right on the back of the Navi unit. You want the wire (2006) white with red stripe. 4th wire in from the right side on the top. (picture) Splice your swtich into that wire. I installed mine on the front of the passenger seat bottom close to the center console on the plastic under the seat bottom.

It's pretty easy and took about 30 mins to do.

Just know that while bypassed, the trip computer stops anylizing data for mileage on trips and mpg calculations. And of course the NAV won't update your position until you switch it back. Not a big deal but just remember to switch it back. The KP technology module to bypass the disclaimer screen can be optioned to allow you to turn the enter button into a switch. One setting allows you to engage the nav bypass but will reengage automatically in 20 seconds from the last time you hit enter.

Would this work on 2005 QX56?

Also, I cannot view the image on the OP...

OK. I have been looking everywhere to find how can I do a NAVI Bypass on my 2005 QX56...

I am looking at the service manual and thinking to do Rocker switch for the VSS cable from the back of the NAV DVD unit. That should work, no? But, I cannot find which cable... Anyone?

OK, Looks like VSS wire is the #28 in Navi Control Unit #B152 behind the dvd unit (passenger side). It is the white and red wire.

if you can source the two wires in the schematic for the 2005 (color of the wires change all the time) you can for sure design a DPDT switch/relay an be up and running.

Yes, this is from the 2005 service manual:
-VSS wire is the #28 in Navi Control Unit #B152. (one wire - red/white)

Two wires? I thought all I needed was to splice my switch into this one VSS wire and that's it...

for 2008 and later models there is the VSS and park brake wire that both need to be spliced into. this is due to the HDD system and gyrocompass thats installed in the later models.

apologies for the confusion as I did not take into account your model year.
