Pontiac Solstice, 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder Ecotec, 170-180hp, RWD, good looking, plans for a supercharged or turbocharged version. Screw the domestic haters, I LOVE this car.

They're not bad looking cars, but too small. Looks too much like a miata for my liking.

i like em. they dont look to bad. the only thing i dont like is the way the engine looks. personally, im a fan of seeing the intake stuff and exhuast stuff, along with a small valve cover showing off the engine. i mean, look at the RBs and the SR compared to the VQs and QRs. they just look so much more mean. other than that, they arent too bad. now it they just made a cool coupe version.

My best friend either wants one of those, or a 240...I think he'll get a 240 since its more affordable but those things are damn sexy :)

I saw that car at the NY Auto Show a few years back, loved it as soon as I saw it . . . of course, the spokespeople there were clueless as to whether or not it would go into production, offering details such as "it's on the show circuit for a while, so production can't start until it leaves", or some BS like that. All in all, I'm glad to see Pontiac producing something worth buying, first time since the Fiero, IMO . . .

This little market seems to be getting crowded. There is now the Z4, S2000, MR2 Spyder, Miata and Solstice. Miata owned the 2 seat convertible sports coupe market for awhile, but it looks like there is some competition now.

the Z4 ($30K-$38K) is more in the 350Z Roadster catagory, same with the S2000 ($32K).

The MR2, Miata, and solstice are all about the same price. With 30-40 more hp than the other offerings, and a slightly more *cough* masculine stance, Im sure the solstic will carve a fairly large chunk out of the market for itself.

i feel with drifting becoming more popular, that there is going to be a bigger market for an afordable sporty rwd car.. err NEW sporty rwd car. i know nissan is well aware of the current status of drifting in the US, but i dont understand why theres no fr or mr platform in the 16-22k range ? me and alot of my friends feel if they brought back an sx 180 200 240 260 w/e and placed that in that price range, it would totaly dominate the market

Well, their 350Z is doing very well in the pro drift circut, but yes, i would like a cheap RWD nissan as well.

That's definitely a nice car. I love everything except the signature Pontiac grill.

From everything I have heard on the Ecotech's I have to give them props. But I absolutly hate these rounded off cars. I do like the way it looks under the hood (or where the hood should be on photo 2.)
