I have a 2006 Pathfinder with rear a/c. When I purchased I was told that it was capped off by the dealer due to a leak. The front a/c works since when I purchased it, I put a bottle of stop leak in it and refilled the system. I have never been able to find where it was capped off and have wondered if I could fix the rear a/c as well. Does anyone know what the dealer may have done for this repair l so that I could have a look and see if I can get the rear working again?

Thanks for reading. Have a great day!

Usually they're capped off at the base of the passenger firewall where the front and rear plumbing connects. The aftermarket sells kits which plug into the fitting on the front hardlines, but the rear lines may or may not still be there. Very often people just chop them off, since they're not doing anything and removing them the right way is a fairly huge job.

They may have plugged one of the lines and closed it back up, or pinched something further up or back. There are multiple ways to block off the rear, some are just easier and cheaper than others.
