2006 PathFinder AC Control issue

We have 06 Pathfinder and have issues using the Temp control panel.
1. The AC is stuck showing Off and we cannot change it back to on ( we live in Phoenix so kinda of a big deal..lol)
2. The buttons for Mode do not do anything when pressed. We have taken off the knobs and see the connections are good but will not allow a change to the setting.

Has anyone ran into this and do we have to replace the whole temp control panel? Seems like it would be expensive. Thanks for any help or tips. Rich
