My wife and I are replacing a car, and have narrowed it down to a CR-V or a Murano (I'm plugging for the Murano!) and just had a few questions.

We're looking used (hopefully certified) 2006 or 2007 year. Is there any difference in the two in trim, CVT, etc?

Is one more reliable than the other, anything like that? Wanting to know if there is anything that would sway me choose one year over another.

Thanks all, hoping to join the club!

Not sure, but if you're looking at the CRV, the Nissan Rogue is it's direct competitor, and you could probably get a new loaded Rogue for the same price as a used 07 Murano. A new vehicle comes with the warranty etc. but also you can break it in properly and take care of it properly from the start, rather than wondering how the previous owner of the 07 Murano treated the vehicle.

I've got a Rogue and find it to be a great vehicle, FAR superior to the CRV that I compared it to back when I made my purchase. Just an idea to consider.....good luck.

Thanks for the heads up, we're cross-shopping the CR-V and the Murano due to similar options avaliable (leather, sunroof, stability, etc.) and similar interior size. The Rogue -- a good rig, we've test driven -- is a tad on the small size inside. I love that the Murano is big inside with seats up or down. Combine that with my not-so-sold attitude on the '09 Murano styling...

Just curious about 2006 vs. 2007 reliability.

I went through what you're experiencing about 6 weeks ago. I was looking at '06 or '07 muranos but was considering others, including new. I ended up getting a '06 AWD with 21k miles for $3k under KBB. So far so good!

I like the rogue and the gas milage would have been great but it is soooo light that a wind gust nearly blew me off the road during the test drive. New muranos would have been great b/c of financing but Colorado has some really expensive registration fees on new cars and I didn't want to spend that extra money. IMO, you can't go wrong with the murano...

Problem solved -- we bought a 2006 SL AWD w/ 40k miles for a song. Love it!
