2006 Nissan Quest - Interior Lights/Speedometer Issue

Hi,

I just bought a 2006 Nissan Quest from an auction to use for my personal use. I noticed that sometimes the interior lights, speedometer trip display, and interior dashboard lights dont work at the same time. I have to hit the speedometer a few times for it to start working and start coming on. I also noticed that it is not telling me the right amount of fuel in the car.
Can anyone help me with this problem on what I should do? It will be tough to drive at night and if the speedometer doesn't function properly that is also an issue. I just bought the car so I am not too familiar with it but I do want to start using it.

The dash lights issue (speedo, etc) is an easy fix - look on Youtube as there are many videos about how to do it. They used a ribbon cable and curved it - with a lot of stress - where it plugs in inside the speedo/gas gauge unit. You can order a cable for a few bucks off ebay and do it yourself. Save a bunch o' $. However, not sure about the interior lighting issue - I haven't had that one or heard of it.
