Hello all, I've been having an issue with my oil pressure gauge fluctuating when stopped at a light or sign. Needle goes down to almost low and jumps back up to normal when I accelerate. Had oil pump replaced thinking that was the issue...and $1k later, same issue still. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

There hasn't been much knowledge about R51 pathfinder troubleshooting accumulated here yet. From what I can tell if you dodged or repaired the radiator transmission nuking issue then they are pretty reliable cars.

If you figure out the answer come back and post it. My brother has an R51 and I try to keep an eye on problems that they might have for him.

Have you downloaded the FSM's here and studied the system to see what other components could be causing it?

Well I looked at your video and I believe that is normal for the gauge to do that, the higher the RPM's the more oil pressure so the gauge rises and at lower RPM's the gauge needle will go down, does the "low oil pressure" warning light ever come on?

I noticed your "service engine soon" light is illuminated, do you know the trouble code or codes for that?

Did you purchase the vehicle recently?

what oil and weight are you using? How many miles since last change? Does this occur all the time, or more so the longer you drive? What's the outside temp when this happens.

The service engine light is for an O2 sensor. The oil light has come on before, meaning the needle has gone lower than what is shown. I use 5-30. Only 100k miles on the truck. It does this all the time, even after a fresh oil change. I've replaced the oil pressure switch as well. You can feel the truck shake a little when the needle starts to drop.

At what RPM's does the engine idle at when warm?
