H3 is correct, you can do it from inside the engine compartment but it's a tight fit and a pain in the butt. The stealership will tell you they have to remove the bumper (which is the case for the headlights)

For the driver's side you need to remove the intake or the stock air filter. This will give you access to the bulb. For the passenger's side, remove the fluid reservoir (there's 2 10mm bolts holding it in place). After that you'll need to remove the fill tube for the windshield washer fluid. You can do this by twisting it counter clockwise. After that you should have access to the bulbs.

What bulbs did you buy?

Is this the correct procedure for the 2007 Maxima as well?

Seems like they could have just made that black plastic surround pop off from the outside, so you wouldn't have to go in from behind...

Please advise if this procedure also applies to '07 Maxima. Thanks!

If you have an 07, your fogs are down below in the bumper....

So the bumper cover has to be taken off? That black plastic trim piece which surrounds the fog light won't come off ?

I have the same question on a 2007 Maxima fog light, the glass lens broke and Nissan only sells the entire assembly for $175. I am going to have a piece of glass cut to fit the hole but want to know how it comes off first. Anybody taken one off? Thanks,
