Good Day,

I have a 2006 Murano that is having problems starting. It seems when I turn the key, the engine is cranking hovwever it does not start. It just continues cranking. I have a full battery as I tired getting a boost and the same problem occurred. I thought it might be the key and tired all the keys and still I have no luck. I also tired putting the key in the ignition and trying it manually instead of using the key fob and still no luck. I have more than 3/4 of gas in the tank so I aknow it is not an issue of no gas.Any help would be most appreciated.

Regards,

Does the security indicator light up while cranking?

First of all, thank you for your reply. I am correct to assume that when you say security indicator you mean the symbol of the "key", no it does not come on when trying to crank the engine.

Since we ruled out the security system, could it be the fuel pump or a sensor maybe? I am surprised that this can occur on a car that is only a year old.

Well, my car had similar symptoms, however, they were due to Technicians messing up the ECM. I am not sure if your car/suv has the same issue, but the similarities are there.

had one just like that last week and ended up needing a crank sensor. you may want to see if you can get a code scanner and check for any codes.

Update: Just got a call back from the dealership. They said they need to replace the fuel pump and the computer. This is strange for me as this car is only a little over a year old and only has 30 KM on it. Should I be preparing myself for a lemon?
