Hi everyone. New to the boards, kinda. Just got a used Murano and was wondering about some issues.

At about 2k RPM, I can feel on the gas pedal, a vibration and can here a hum also. I hear it when accelerating from a stop and its really detectable when driving on the freeway at almost exactly 70MPH (also 2K RPM). I have been troubleshooting a few items but was wondering if anyone has run across this before.

So far, Ive replaced the two broken engine mounts, which is common on Muranos, but this didn't fix the hum issue. Ive also had the rear brakes replaced, also not the issue. Ive recently put new tires on the front and have gone through a few rotations, but this doesn't effect the hum either.

My last thoughts are that the exhaust is loose somewhere and it "breathes" louder at that RPM. Any thoughts on what this sound is would be cool. Thanks and glad to be on the boards with you all!

I would take a look at the exhaust. If you have some ramps, crawl underneath while it is running and maybe have someone rev it up while you look around. I would tend not to think of an air intake issue as the car will present other issues if you had an intake leak.

Good luck.

Also check the wheel bearings, known to be a common culprit for noise and vibrations.
