Recent purchaser of a 2006 M45 with only 25k miles on it so was pretty excited. Just took it in for service and asked why the traction sensor light was beeping for no reason. The Infiniti dealership diagnosed it as an issue with the transmission valve body and said I needed to replace it for $2900. Anyone heard of this? I don't want to run the risk of needing a new to transmission and I'm out of warranty. ???

Thanks for any help

Welcome and congrats on your purchase.
I haven't heard of any transmission issues with our cars. Does your car shift weird or feel like it's slipping?

No. The traction sensor beeps so I just turn it off. But I have to do this each time I drive the car. Tech said it traced to the transmission valve. Sounds fishy

Welcome,
You sure its the traction light and not the lane departure warning? Lane departure has on off button by the left side(by your knee area) under the steering.
Just double check....

Go to a pep boys and have them read your codes then google what they' mean. I never trust a money strapped dealer so I just bought a $65 code reader and diagnose issues myself.

Traction control uses the abs sensors and vehicle speed sensor to determin slip.

Yes, it must be the lane departure warning then. The service advisor obviously didn't know what it was

Bring it into a different dealer and see what they say. :dblthumb:

If it's the lane departure warning, the dealership was trying to steal $2,900 from you.
I disabled mine by holding the button down for 10+ seconds if I remember correctly.
