I have the dreaded shift lock......The car will not shift out of park. All of the fuses look good and the brake lights are fine. Is there a solenoid that needs to be replaced or does the entire unit need to be replaced?

Anyone have luck getting a Nissan dealer to replace the faulty air bags?

Also, just rolled to 100k, any recommendations for service?

Thanks,

Blaine

Yes, there's the shift lock solenoid. And it seems it comes integrated within the unit under the gear lever. But there is also the shift lock relay in the relay box by the windshield washer reservoir. Have you checked that?

Out of curiosity, the gear selector can still be moved if you manually push the shift lock tab through the access hole, correct?
If so, and the car then gets out of park, does it move up and down the gear selection normally?
