I am new to this forum. I have a 2006 M45

The front drivers seat is leaning inward. Is the common broken seat rail issue

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, this is a pretty common issue on these cars. I'm shocked to this day that it hasn't been recalled...it's a HUGE safety issue IMO.

Same exact thing happened to me this week.

How is this fixed?

Parts told me I needed to order the entire seat base, which is $1045, and then have a leather shop swap the leather from my old seat onto the new seat, this would cost over $2,000.

The seat was leaning to the right when I raised it and would go to the left when I lowered it, now its just stuck I hear the motors working when I push up or down but the seat isnt moving.

Please help!

Probably better off trying to get a seat from the junk yard...for like $300, etc.

Not sure if a broken rail would cause your symptoms with the seat, but this member, Kongz, unbolted his and welded the broken rail:

seems like a lot of time, but you could put the grand you would have spent at the dealer towards a decent MIG/TIG welder which you would then have to play with for other things.

I purchased a seat from a parts company (wrecked Infiniti), had it shipped to my favorite auto mechanic who offered to install it for me. When he removed the existing seat he discovered it was two rods that had snapped. He took the seat next door to a welder who repaired it in 10 minutes, reinstalled in 10 minutes and is better than new. So I have a black leather seat with Bose sound (small tear on bottom left of seat but otherwise in good shape) if you decide to go the replacement route.
