2006 M45 engine

2006 M45 81,000 miles I took it into the dealer due to the fact of hearing a tapping sound in the engine. Dealer told me I have a
FAILED #2 PISTON SENDING METAL THROUGH MOTOR ALSO METAL IN PAN MUST BE HAVE COMPLETE LONG BLCOCK. I'm shocked to have this issue this soon.

It's been serviced at the dealership. No major issues other than routine Maitenece.

You're description of "tap" makes no sense as to why they say it's a bad cylinder?!?! that diagnosis would be based on a hard knock. That being said, it still is a mechanical creation and is subject to failure. Did you see the pan off with the metal debris?

I doubt they would have taken the head off for diagnosis, they probably used a scope through the plug hole. I mean, right?
