does anyone else have or has experienced what i am going through started to hear a clacking noise in my engine. when i would have the car in drive the noise would click even faster to match the speed of the car and when the car is idle it would just constantly click i am worried that it might be something else when i checked my oil it was low nothing showed up on the dip stick so i decided to do an immediate oil change. upon doing the oil change i found that only about 3 qts of oil came out :frown: yikes!!! i am using Mobil 1 full synthetic with mobil 1 oil filter. put the new oil in started the car back up and the sound is still there??? please help on how to get rid of this annoying sound

I went through the same thing. The noise went away several miles after the oil change. I now add oil in between oil changes. The top end of the motor needs oil to run through the parts, most likely lifter noise.

I drove around for 2 days after that clicking sound happened to my car. I got impatient and decided to put some seafoam in the gas tank (probably didn't make a difference). After I did that, I drove the car very hard back home. Since I knew I had topped off the oil the day prior, i knew there would be no issue. Once I got home the ticking disappeared. I would like to think that the redlining and hard acceleration made the clicking sound disappear.

Check your oil level at least every two weeks, or every time you get gasoline. While you wait for gas tank to fill up, you should be able to check the dip stick. I keep a qt of oil in my trunk I suggest you do the same.

I had this issue last year, and I was really worried that it was serious. It eventually resolved itself after an oil change and has never come back. On my car, the clacking sound would disappear when turning on the AC or shifting into gear and reappear when in Park.
