Hey guys. im new on here as i just bought my pearl white M45. i got it for a hell of a price and the only problem it has is coolant leak, if you didnt know that by now lol

But i will start from the beginning... i bought the car after looking over it for a while and drove it 45 minutes back home. everything was fine. i bought coolant on the way home as well. the next day i go to drive it and i notice it getting hot so i pull over to top it off. for the rest of the day everything is fine. i go to drive it the next day and it starts overheating bad whenever i come to a stop or i am driving at low speeds. other then that the temperature stays right at under half way. so i figure it must be the thermostat and i was correct. while replacing thermostat i found a bad hose clamp where a little bit of coolant was leaking and fixed that. i go to fire up the car to see how everything is acting and all is well for 20 minutes while i let the car idle but as soon i go to drive ... coolant pouring out near the water pump.

so my question is for you guys who may have experienced this problem before is...
1. may i have a faulty water pump / water pump gasket?
2. could it be coming from the intake manifold?
3. if it is the water pump how difficult of a procedure is it?

im not too familiar with the cooling system on these cars but so far iv eliminated the thermostat and thermostat housing as the leak only occurs once the thermostat opens up. iv also eliminated upper hose and the 2 hoses that seemed to be connected to the thermostat housing.

any opinion or suggestion is highly appreciated

Bad water pump. When they die, coolant runs out of the weep hole.

Also, I'd check functionality of the fans. Heating up when sitting still is a sure sign of insufficient airflow = bad fan.
