2006 M45 CD changer not working, broken

My 2006 M45 will not accept a CD. I push the load button and nothing happens. I have checked the fuses and disconnected the battery and nothing helps,

I have searched but have found nothing. Any ideas?

I have similar probs on my 06 m35.. it's very hard to get it to accept a disc - and then it only accepts a single disc, with no way to load the others -- I tried all the stuff in the instruction booklet.

Are these things just quirky or broken

could the radio have fallen(back) out of place? do all the buttons work otherwise?Can you hear the CD changer working when you press the load button? the answer to that would help us diagnose a little better.

is the car still under warranty? sounds like something you should contact the dealer about if the car is still under warranty unless you wanna upgrade to something else out of pocket.

When on ACC I can hear the changer trying to do something, but when the car is on i get nothing.

I had this problem 2 years ago and tackled it my self. I cant remember the details but the problem was caused by someone forcing a CD into the slot. You must remove the whole changer unit and fiddle with it, you will probably see a bit of metal that is mishaped in the offending slot or perhaps a spring has fallen off. I managed to get it all working fine with just a little time. Your motivation would be the cost of a replacement unit.

How do you remove the CD Changer unit? I am guessing it includes the analog clock and everything. Is there a tool I need to buy?

Hey all, I am having the opposite problem. I can load all the CDs but they will not eject. I don't have a manual but my guess is all I have to do is press the eject button and it will then ask which CD. Please help.

I was speaking of the CD changer in my 2003 M45. I had another look and it sparked my geezer memory. The problem was in the 5 disk cassette. As I remember I just took it apart and fiddled with the offending slot until it worked smoothly. Sorry I cant be of more help.
