2006 M35x stock wheels scraped up

Just turned in my 06 M35x and got dinged by Infiniti Finance for "above normal" wear and tear - scrapes on wheels. Got me to thinking (and noticing) every single M35x I see on the road has trashed rims. The low profile tires and protruding rim just don't work together. As if it's a design problem... and then... not really "extraordinary" if it happens all the time. So in about two days I've got a dozen photos of M35's with scraped-up rims. Anyone else?
