I'm a new member so I hope I'm not repeating others questions. I own a 2006 m35 Sport and am looking for all season tires. The only tire I've been able to find are the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Any comments about these? Are there other cheaper or better alternatives? Also, I have a hard time keeping my car steering straight. The tires seem to get caught in the grooves of the road causing constant corrections. This is tiresome. Is there any modification I can do to correct this problem? Would thinner tires help? I'm also looking for an aftermarket cold air intake system...any suggestions? Thanks for your help. David

Welcome to NICO, David!

The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is an excellent tire, by the way. It is tough to find all-season tires in a 19" size (since you have the Sport model, it is a 19" wheel).

My advice instead, (if you live in snow country) is to recommend getting a set of cheap steel wheels and decent snow tires, and use good summer tires on the Sport wheels during the warm months.

The problem with all-season tires in general is that they are neither good for summer nor really designed for any snow, with the compromises they have to make. For rainy weather, some "summer" tires perform better than all-season surprisingly enough, although the summer tires would be terrible in snow, of course! The Goodyear Eagle F1 Gs-D3 that I use is an example of this - excellent wet weather qualities, better than all-season tires.

By the way, thinner tires will not help with the steering effects caused by road grooves, as far as I know, but I am not up to speed on this issue really. You may also want to ask that question in our Wheels and Tires forum - we have some Tire Rack (and other places) experts there who can help.

Thanks for the response. Any suggestions for a cold air intake system?
