2006 Infiniti M35 Sport.

I'm looking up KYB struts for my car and I keep getting different part numbers, and the items don't look the same either. This is is the first set:

W0133-1841720
W0133-1841721
W0133-1842902

The second set look like this:

341141
341142
349053

The former (in pictures) seem to include some brackets, the latter usually don't but sometimes they do. It's really confusing. Which is correct?

Per KYB's site, the only ones they list are the following:

341141 (front right)
341142 (front left)

They do not list rears (assuming that's the third number you posted), which I believe is also the case for the AWD guys. I've heard of people using G35x struts and shocks, etc. but you'd need to cross reference that information.

Not sure about your first 3 part numbers...that looks like a reseller specific part number...like Advance Auto Parts part #'s start with AA, etc.

I don't know where the number is coming from either, but that's the number used by Parts Geek, CarID, Amazon and many others. I've seen them posted in these forums as well (they just showed up on a Google search). At Parts Geek the "long numbers" I gave actually say they fit the Sport model - they had other numbers for Base and AWD.

And then there's this. Both of these are KYB-341141 but they look very different. The first says it fits my car, the second says it does not. The only difference I see (besides the picture obviously) is the first one has a lower mount type of "base cup" whereas the second is "saddle bracket". But it's the same KYB part number. What gives? Are these the same struts just coming with mounting hardware?

Yeah it's certainly odd. Hopefully someone whose purchased these before can chime in and help you...I personally felt it was more financially sound to buy coilovers for $900 (BCs) than replace the stock struts and shocks and strut mounts, etc. for $700 or so (since at the time, and maybe still, the rears were only available from the dealer).

I thought about coilovers because I thought it would be easier but I also thought it would be too rough. I don't want anything stiffer than I already have.

I recently changed the front and rear struts on my M35. The part numbers they used for reference were 341141, 341142 for the fronts and 349053 for rears. The website I ordered from indicated that the fronts would be a fit for all RWD applications but not AWD. The rears fit all M trims iirc. I don't believe KYB makes front struts for AWD because they only list rears for the x trim on their website. I paid about $289 total for all 4.

Companionator, that's a damn good price. It's the price of 1 single y34 front strut!
Did you buy OEM? Mind sharing the website you used?

Honestly, if you want a better looking and handling ride, I'd go with coilovers. I had them on their softest setting (cause I too wanted as soft as possible) and IMO it rode just fine. But everyone has a different sensitivity I guess.

Wow, that is cheap. Price went WAY down. I just paid $180 for a Monroe Quick-Strut (spring and mounts, etc. already done - kind of like a coilover) for my wife's 2001 Rav4.

Hi EdBwoy, wow that's no joke! I bought KYB as my replacements. I was able to reuse parts to build the front strut assemblies because when I bought my Eibachs used, the person sent me the complete front struts for AWD and I used what I could. The rubber boot and top mount were still in great condition so I saved some money there. I got the KYB parts from THMotorsports, here is my receipt below for the breakdown. Sorry about the formatting, I'm doing this through my phone.
QTY Part Number Description Price Extended Price

Order Summary

Items Total: $288.85
Shipping (FREE UPS Ground Shipping (4-5 Business Days)): $0.00
Tax: $0.00
Grand Total: $288.85
My total spend for this whole project was about $450 for Eibachs and KYBs which wasn't bad at all. About half the price of good coilovers, although one negative thing is that I don't have any options for adjustment.

Well this is kind of embarrassing. I just noticed those two links I put up show different part numbers. One is 341441 and the other is 341141. The first one is correct, the second is not. I just looked at KYB's website and it's actually showing 341441, not 341141. So that's cleared up. I noticed a few other posts here making the same mistake.
