Hello, I'm new to this forum.

I drive an Infiniti 2006 M35 with the following modifications;
Injen CAI
MagnaFlow Mufflers 14815
Performance Test Pipes

I need to replace certain stock parts with decent aftermarket parts of the following;

Front;

Rear;

sorry for the bad quality, taken from my crappy iPhone :eek:

anyways, what would you recommend of high performance replacements?

Welcome to the forum dude! For the first section (Y pipe) I would recommend searching on Google (or on here) for the Motordyne XYZ pipe, it seems to be the best and most popular replacement that I am aware of. And for the second section (the mid pipe) I would recommend the Megan Racing mid section. You can purchase it by itself and should likely be able to mate it to your Magnaflow mufflers. Also, there is a user on here by the name CPJ-LB (at least I think that's his username, I could be mistaken) that has replaced all components of the exhaust system and his posts should be able to help you out. Once again welcome to NICO bud, and let me know if there is anything else you need! Lots of helpful members on here.

Thanks a million Wallstreet, quite useful information.

as for the first section, is it necessary to replace my stock Y pipe with Motordyne XYZ pipe? I mean, is there any noticeable differences between them in performance & sound?

For the second section, I found this Megan Racing Mid Pipe, which I'm attending on buying it;

Welcome to NICO...

I think to get a better idea of what to get, the question is what is your current mods' specific details/size?? what diameter test pipes and mufflers do you have?? are you running (2", 2.25" or 2.5")?? It will be ideal to have matching size diameters or go from smaller to bigger down the exhaust path.

since you are running test pipes, you are getting a lot of exhaust volume coming out of the engine but it's getting bottled-neck into the stock Y-pipe and thru the midpipe...Also you are getting a lot of exhaust fumes smell possibly into the cabin of your car...some people like it, some don't....As far as noise, it's probably getting raspy at certain rpms...

A good way to solve these issues would be to get a better flowing Ypipe. I've tried many different Ypipes just to get a feel for what works best on my car ('06 M35 Sport) -- here's my breakdown.

ECU tune: UpRev w/Osiris
grounding kit
intake mods: MD 5/16 plenum spacer, MREV2, K&N drop in filter, z-tube

Exhaust set ups:
1. Stock Cats, Stock Ypipe with Megan mids & axle backs = very good sound during cruising and great sound WOT.

2. Stock Cats, Megan Ypipe with Megan mids & axle backs = a little louder than set up above ^, and got more flow at top end speeds...

3. Stock Cats, Motordyne xyz w/resonator module, Megan mids & axle backs = deeper tone, great flow in all rpms, dyno'd better HP/Tq gains

4. BERK High Flow Cats (HFC), MD xyz w/resonator module, Megan mids & axle backs = additional deeper tone, great flow in all rpms, additional 8-10 hp gain, slight smell of exhaust fumes

5. **current** BERK High Flow Cats, MD xyz w/HFC module, Megan mids & modified stock mufflers & tips = quieter than above set up^ & still has deeper tone -- sounds like G35 exhaust but deeper, great flow in all rpms, no exhaust fume smell -- the additional HFC at the MD xyz pipe really took care of this. ** I had the stock mufflers modified by increasing the pipe diameter connecting the midpipe to the muffler. MUCH better flow since the OEM size was 2 or 2.25...

The Megan Mid pipe you're looking to get is a good piece to add to your exhaust system.

If you search various G35 Forums, you'll be able to pick up used parts (MD xyz pipes and modules).

***Most importantly -- get your car tuned if you haven't done so....I imagine that you're probably running really lean with your current mods... :ohno:

Hope this helps...

Super information, I've learned lots of things, and you're totally right about what I'm facing right now with the fumes smell, and the sound of my exhaust is like "the good, the bad & the ugly", ya fell me?

I ended up in a conclusion of changing my stock Y pipe and Mid pipe & reinstall my MagnaFlow mufflers with less welding and using flanges & hangers, I just found a place in my downtown city that changes them with recommended custom parts of every Infiniti model @ very reasonable prices, it would definitely be less expensive rather than changing the whole thing.

Or this. I contacted the seller and he states no duty fees on this item coming into US from Canada.

About my M35's performance, well, after I modified it with the first modifications above, I felt something has been changed in performance, but not that much, I mean, driving it doesn't make me feel like driving an Infiniti, something lower, I expected it to be fast after I modify it, but it's little bit unnoticeable faster, which pisses me off :eek:
This is my reason that makes me want to change my other stock exhaust parts, I want my ride to be as modern as the new M's and G's in performance and with clean smexy exhaust sound.

After doing all this, I'll tune it up with Dyno, although I'm not sure if Dyno results will give me the true exact physical results.

I'll try to demonstrate all this in a video, then I'll be back in this topic with a reply.

Wish me luck :dblthumb:
