Im new to the forum and looking for my first Infiniti. I have an opportunity to buy a 2006 M35 sport with 16,000 miles for $35,000. But the new G35 is in same price range and of course brand new. Just looking for suggestions.. I do have a little one, 3 1/2 years old. So maybe the extra room in the M is a better choice.. Any advice?

hii was in similar situation... but you won't regret with 06 M35... that's what i chose over Lexus GS, BMW 5's, Audi A6... i also have 3yr son... I had G35X for about 10 days as a loaner... definitely not a family carVery happy with my '06 M35X

Hello,Welcome to NICO. For that price, I would get a M45 Sport for sure. I was shocked at just how reasonable they are these days. Saw tons on Autotrader for around 30. Do not be scared off by the V8. The V6 gets equally craptastic mileage. Otherwise, I would wait for the G37 sedan over a 2006 M35. The new G's are a good bit bigger than the earlier ones. And infinitely better finished. While smaller, would not think it to be a deal breaker.Good Luck,ML

The M35's mileage is good, but would have to have all options and be in excellent condition to sell for 35K. A 2006 M35 with that mileage is around 30K here in Minnesota.

Love my 2006 M35 it was at the dealer for servicing and they gave me a 2007 G35. I do believe it it a lot quicker then the M35 because of the size but was I glad to get my M35 back loved the G35 but it is a sports car with 4 doors. Not an expensive feel to the interior hated the smaller nav screen too.......I had a chance to do the same as you and went for the M35 and not the G35 no regrets after driving both but the G has a quicker feel

35k is too much even with low miles. I paid 28.5+tax for an 06 M45 with 30k miles. With gas prices as they are...people are afraid of V8s but as Mark said, there is not a big difference in mileage between the M35 and M45 but definitely a lot more grunt with the 45.

Ultimately do you want the big daddy M45 or the little boy G35.

I've been driving this 2008 G35 loaner since past saturday. It's a nice car but when I sat in it first time, I realized how small the cabin is compared to my 2006 M45. I'll probably gonna have to keep the G35 till monday and I really miss my car.Make sure you test drive both and make a decision. If I were you, I'll get the 06 M35.

I faced a similar decision last year when I got my M35x. The G is just too small for putting kids in the back seat, with the child seats and all. Not a problem with the M.

When I've taken my M in for service, the dealer has given me a G for the day. I could barely get the kids' stuff in the back. And, as others have already said, the M is a much better car, definitely a step up. The G35 is quicker (than the M35), but very rough and unrefined compared to the M. Louder, harsher, smaller. I couldn't wait to get my M back at the end of the day.

Go for the M and don't look back. You will be happy.

Another vote on the M35 , the g35 is too cramped for my liking and interior feels cheap compared to the M. With a large family the M35 is the best Choice hands down, space, better interior, and i think it looks better than the G, and it's alot more rare.

I came from G to M and my vote 2006 M35 hands down. I have 2 small kids and my M35x has plenty of room for both.

M35 is a great choice if you need space for kids/dogs. Otherwise, id say ditch the big boy body and get the sexy G. I have driven the M several times, and love them. I just couldnt get used to how big it was, esp since i drive by myself.

hi,have similar problem,

g37x (AWD) 2007 or m 35/45 sport

I'm 6ft. 5" but in g37 2006 was enough space for driver, if in g37 2007 is better seems good, hope so they didn't change a seats in 2007 model. in 2006 model seats was excellent.

m35x is too slow and too comfortable for me, and seats are worse than in g37.and I didn't have a "quick feelings" but I didn't try m35/45 sport, the same seats like in m35x or other? how suspension works?closer feelings to g37?

and gas mileage

g37x(AWD) vs m35 sport (rdr) vs m45 sports(rdr). mostly city in my case,

I'm worry about gas mileage in m45 sport. on highway100-110 mph for example - how gas mileage? or in city?heavy foot half a time

greetings from Warsaw/Poland

Just purchased an '06M35x, journey, tech., 20k mi. from local dealer in N VAin excellant condition (except needs new tires) for $28.6K plus tax.

I hope that helps in your decision/negotiation. Also considered Lexus ES or GS (previously drove a GS300 for 9 years), A6 and Acura RL. The Infiniti G35 was a great size for my wife (primary driver) but was tight for me when we go on trips so we went with the used M35x.

Since I need new tires I am considering Michelin Primacy MXV4 or Bridgestone Potenza 960AS or Michelin Pilot Sport AS. Any comments from about these choices or other recommendations?

Two different requirements. M35 (37 in Europe?) would be better in the city and fine on the highway. Speculation the M50 will debut in 2009, and for 110 mph, might yield very much the same fuel economy with more ease getting there and more resources once there. You must decide what is paramount for you and your pocket book.

New 7 speed should help both.

Welcome to NICO. I think there might even be a Polish forum here.

I'll buy Infiniti in U.S. and transport it to Poland. My money limit says M from 2006 or G from 2007

I've owned a g35 sedan and coupe, both hot cars but really different from the M. For the most/best of both worlds go with the M. Just had my M in for service and drove a 07 G35 sedan, too much like a very fast go kart compared to the M. Don't take me wrong the G is a great car and VERY FAST but is is much smaller and even with standard suspension offers a choppy ride.
