Hello,

2 days ago, got the "check engine soon" light on with VDC/Slip light while driving, headed to autozone and checked code and it turns out to be the Bank#1 cam sensor, OEM cost is around 140.

Any alternative brand that may be a bit less expensive and good enough for my beloved M or don't risk it and bite the bullet with OEM? Tight budget right now after daughters wedding.

After doing so investigation, it seems that it is not that complicate to replace, I may end up buying both sides/banks and replace them myself.

Thanks for the info.
Carlos

Did you by any chance get a quote at Autozone while there? Some people say OEM is preferred, but I have had decent luck with a few Duralast sensors.

No I did not but will do. When you say "decent luck" what does that mean edbwoy?

How much did you buy them for?

I meant that I've never had a Duralast (Autozone house brand) sensor fail me. Autozone locations are plenty and I can do a warranty swap easily if need be. I won't buy a no-name aftermarket brand online.

My experience has been with other sensors for previous cars, but IIRC the prices were never more than 40 bucks for these drivetrain sensors.

I have a thread on this. The Duralast brand costs more than I found the OEM part for. I found out that the Nissan Xterra or Rogue or some SUV’s crankshaft sensor was the same part and cost less than the Infiniti part. I’ll try to find the thread.

It’s on page 6. Look for P1140 code in title.

I changed both cam sensors in early September. With sensors from rock auto

even after seeing numerous post online saying how aftermarket sensors with nissan engines is a hot or miss

Fast forward 5 months later car keeps stalling. Hard to start and even cutting off whilst driving

pull engine code. And yup sensors again

Just do it right the first time and get the sensors from the dealer. It's like $90 a piece plus shipping. Discount infiniti parts online. Dealership in GA I live in Both Jersey and get shipment in 2 days maybe 3 sometimes
