Has anyone replaced the cabin air filter on an 06 M35? The filter instructions say to push on the sides of the glove box to release the pins. The problem is that although I press hard on the side of the glove box I do not get enough deflection to clear the side pins. I am afraid that if I push too hard I will crack the sides of the glove box. Any tips? What am I missing. Thanks in advance..

To remove the glove box, open it first. Grab it and slide it the right as far as you can...then pull with you left hand toward you (or rear of the car). Then left pin will come out. At this moment the left rear hinge may pop out as well..dont be alarmed, its normal. As the end drops down to the floor you can then pull the right pin out and subsequently pull out the middle and right rear hinge. It has a safety cable attached to it. You dont have to disconnect the cable to get to the filter cover.

Let the door hang and the filter cover is dead middle. Lil notch on the bottom I believe and it pops up then off. Behind it is the white filter cover door. Here is where you have to be careful. grab the right side, push in slightly to clear the notch then pull to the right. It will the swing hinge on the left side. Dont let it swing back to far or the tabs will break. swap filters and do directions in reverse.

If you haven't purchase a filter yet. The correct activated charcoal filter is found here..

Thank you so much for your help. Changed the filter this morning. I should have paid closer attention regarding your statement about being careful with the tabs on the white cover. I broke both tabs and had to exposy them back on.
