2006 Infiniti M45 Service Engine Soon Light

Hello I'm new to posting on this site but have been a reader for a while. Anyways I have a 06 M45 with 61k. The ses light came on yesterday and I'm curious why. Anyone have any ideas? I'm assuming it's a 60k maintained issue?

SES doesn't come on for scheduled maintenence - it comes on when there is a problem. Can you get the OBD Code? You can always go to an autozone or the like to have them read it for free.

Autozone will also loan you a simple reader for free, with a credit card for a small deposit. Don't buy that reader though - it is too simple a thing for what it does.

Don't clear the code though (unless it is something simple like you left the gas cap off). Best to have the dealer see it too and understand the cause.
