I have a 2006 Infiniti m45. I came out my house one day and my radio wasn't working! The controls on the steering wheel didn't work, neither the one on the dashboard! It would beep when I push the volume knob but on the screen it says "AUDIO OFF". Has any1 else experienced this and if so did you solve the problem? PLEASE HELP   Oh b4 I forget I did some type of diagnostic stuff where as I held down settings and turned the volume knob to run self diagnosis but that didn't work it didn't even diagnos it gave me a ERROR

Try unplugging your battery for a few minutes. A CD got stuck in my in-dash changer, that's what I had to do in order to reset everything.
Unfortunately, the changer went out completely... so I just use my phone through the aux cable.

Hey thanks for the reply! How long should I leave it unplugged? I don't think there's a cd stuck in mine, because on the screen it says "AUDIO OFF" and the radio controls on the steering wheel don't work.

And what were the results? Do you think our problems are similar?

My changer worked after that and was able to spit out and load more discs. It eventually died, but not immediately afterwards.
Electronics can get stuck in certain states, often times a power-on reset is programmed to initialize when you re-apply power.
It wouldn't hurt to try. It's just an inconvenience losing your preset stations and other stored settings.

Yeah you're right it don't hurt to try what else I have to lose. So should I unplug the battery overnight and should it be both terminals?

You'll only need to disconnect one terminal to cut off power.

Rellik- did you ever get the issue with the audio figured out?
My 2006 m45 just started doing this about 6 weeks ago. I got in the car and noticed that the audio didn't work one day. The screen said "AUDIO OFF" in the top corner and it makes beeping noises when I push any of the audio buttons on the dash (haven't tried the buttons on the steering wheel). I took it into the dealer 3 days later. The audio randomly started working fine again when I brought the car in. I figured it was just a glitch and it had been working fine ever since. Well, it just happened again yesterday and I have no audio again. This is frustrating. I also have been having problems (for almost a year now) with the seat memory not going all the way back into position after getting into the car and starting the engine. Usually I have to push the 'memory 1' button on the door to get it to go into position. Sometimes it will go half way back, sometimes it won't move at all, and once in a blue moon it will actually go to its correct position. Not sure if these are signs of a bigger electric problem or if they are unrelated altogether. The dealer tech (young guy) had no clue on either issue. He gave me a list of some hoops to jump thru and said to let him know if it keeps happening. Jumped thru the hoops and nothing...help!!!
