I bought a 2006 Infiniti M35x this summer and had it checked out at the dealer without any major problems.

About a month ago, I noticed that, about five minutes after starting the car, a high-pitched beep comes on for about 10 seconds. This happens every time I start the car, and I don't hear it again for the rest of the drive. No dashboard lights come on.

My mechanic says he doesn't know what the problem is. Does anybody know what would cause this to happen? Thanks!

I've never experienced anything similar to what you're describing.
Does the beep sounds like the lane departure?

I don't have the lane departure warning in my car, so it wouldn't be that. I'm not sure how the sound compares. It sounds like a high-pitched, medium volume, long electronic beep.

Welcome to the forum, xekul!

The only time I have had the exact same issue (with a high-pitched sound for about 10 seconds shortly after starting my car) is when the tire pressure monitoring system's alarm went off because one or more of my tires had too low of air. Check and correct your tire(s) air pressure, and hopefully that alleviates your high-pitched noise issue.

Thanks! I will try inflating my tires and see if that solves the problem.

I agree with moedawg: it's likely the TPMS, but it's odd that the dashboard light doesn't come on. You can also check to see if any the sensors are showing low or high tire pressure by tapping the info button and then selecting tire pressure.

As the others have mentioned, it's probably the TPMS. I had the same issue with my 06 M35 before I traded it. The alarm would beep, but there was no indicator on the dash, nor was I loosing pressure in my tires. When I went to see my service advisor, she indicated that the sensor for one of my wheels had gone bad, and the beep was the indicator. The sensor was replaced and that was that.

OP posted a reply on the infiniti Sub reddit (another site). He said it was low tire pressure and fixed when he got the tires inflated again.

This happened to me this past Monday when the temp dropped in the morning. My dash however did indicate low tire pressure and the information menu confirmed (26 PSI on all four wheels).

Indeed, I inflated my tires and the beep went away for a few days. Then I heard it again on the road (not at the usual time), but I haven't heard it since. It's definitely the TPMS. Thanks for all your help!
