2006 G35 Coupe CD "Check Disc"

Hello,

I have a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe - it has a BOSE audio system with a 6 disc CD player...lately it plays a CD fine then once I change the CD every CD slot will say "check disc". Then out of the blue it will start playing the CD until its mood changes and boom, "check disc" appears.

I have purchased and used CD player cleaners with no success. Is my entire player broken?

I had a similar issue in my '06 G35x Sedan about a year ago and decided to replace the unit with the Pioneer AVH-P8400...what I also didn't realize was the lack of sound that may have occurred due to the unit deteriorating. Bought radio and recommended items from Crutchfield and tried to install but ended up paying about $100 to a pro. Looks and works great.

@ NorCaliJules, yeah, I'd say your CD player is pretty much toast. Multi-disk players have a higher fail rate than single disk players. Not worth trying to repair, just replace the entire unit.

My CD's are in the same carton as my 45 RPM records, 33 1/3 LP's, and cassette tapes.
That carton is right next to the carton of my dad's 78 RPM records.
