i was driving the car kinda hard the other night, i didnt think it was anything too hard, nothing more then ive driven my past vehicles, and when i pulled in my driveway both front wheel brakes were smoking. they were smoking bad enough where it was a constant stream of smoke for about a minute, no glowing on the rotors. the car does only have about 250 miles on it but i didnt really think i was beating on it that bad where it was result in smoking brakes. you guys think anything is seriously damaged. the brakes really dont feel that bad now. thanks

You probably overheated the brake pads. When you do this, teh pads outgas from teh materials in the brake pad vaporizing. Take it easy when it does this. The brakes can lose almost all braking power if you heat them up too much. I know this one from experience.

Since its new, you might wanna take it easy on the motor for a week or so anyways. There isn't a breakin period like the old V8s needed, but its still good to baby the motor for the first 500 miles or more.

The brake pads would have had a very strong, unique smell if you got them too hot. Alot like a burning clutch if you've ever smelled one. Its aweful.

Could also be something that was put on the car when it was detailed or if you had a protective coating put on. Anythink on your discs can cause smoke.

Or you just simply got them too hot. If they feel fine and are still quiet, then your fine. I burned up a set one day on an Integra and they never ran the same. Ended up replacing all 4 the following week.

Coming to a complete stop as quickly as possible from 100+ is quiet hard on any brake pad.

I agree with Mike, prob a detail coating of some kind. Just take it easy and if you notice anything off, take it to the dealership.

i was wonderin about that too today cuz i was kinda speedin and i parked and i saw the smokes coming from my headlight and hood and was wonderin if it was my oil or if it was overheating already which i doubt it...so i think this makes more sense if thats the case of the brake thing i hopeee...
