2006 Armada in cab fan blower stuck on high

2006 Armada in cab fan blower stuck on high and will not turn down but will turn off. Does the fan need replaced or is there a module or something that can be replaced to fix this? Can these parts be reached by a do-it-yourselfer or does a mechanic need to do it?

Probably the control amplifier and not the motor itself. The amplifier is housed in the same housing as the blower. There are actually two blowers, each with it's own control unit housed next to it. The front is behind the glove box (which probably has to be removed to access it) and the rear is behind the rearmost righthand interior trim panel. You probably only need to replace one or the other.
