For the 2006 model year (without smart key), can an extra key simply be cut from an uncut original or does there need to be programming done on it?
I understand that the keyfob can be programmed using the following steps. Is this accurate?

steps to program a remote, annoying but easy
step 1: get into the drivers seat, lock the door with the main switch
step2: put the key in and out of the ignition slot approx 8 times, you’ll see the hazard lights flash
step 3: after the hazards flash put the key in the ignition and turn to the on position
step 4: unlock and lock the door using the main door switch
step 5: press lock button on remote
step 6: unlock and lock the door using the main door switch
--- if using multiple remotes go to step 7, if only one go to step 8
step 7: if program multiple remotes hit the lock button on the second remote, then lock and unlock the door with the main door switch
----
step 8: turn key to off and remove from ignition
step 9: unlock the door with the main door switch
step 10: open and close the drivers door

try the remote and it should work
