Does the '06 or '07 G35 come with DRL's in the USA? If not, anyone know how $$$ it is to install? Im thinking of importing a G35 this winter,

Thanks,

Alex

Yeah, they're required by law in Canada to register the vehicle. So, just to confirm, the USA G35's come equipped with the DRL's?? If so, that would save me some $$$ after I import one...

Thanks,

Alex

Mine does not have it...I'm pretty sure that US spec cars do not have it equipped. You can buy a kit to convert it for a relativly small cost ($50-60).

The G sold in the USA doesn't have daytime running lights. Nor do 98% of the cars sold in the USA (that may be exaggerated).

From looking at the FSM, it appears that the DRL's are controlled by a separate module... I don't know if there are any other differences - or if the connector is even there on the USDM wiring harness, but it's a good place to start.

You might want to download the FSM at http://www.phatg20.net

Good luck!

DRL's have been required by law in Canada for quite a few years.

I know there's a bit of a debate going on as to their usefulness, but I personally find they are very useful. Other vehicles are more visible during the day with the DRL's on.

Here's some links:http://www.usroads.com/journal...3.htmh ... tudies.htm

This one is an argument against DRL's stating the low light conditions in Canada the reason why they are law here. The author of the article is an idiot, since 85% of Canada's population lives within 200 miles of the Canada/US border - so much for the low-light conditions theory.http://www.thecarconnection.co....html

They do mention that GM has been putting DRL's on US vehicles for a few years now, and Volvo, VW and Toyota are now doing the same.
