Whoo-hoo! You know that sound don't you? That's the sound I made when I got my first pamphlet on the Xterra. That's the sound I made when I took my first Xterra off road in Mesquite, TX. That's the sound I made when I drove a modded out SuperCharged Xterra down I-30 at speeds I won't mention for fear of self-incrimination. And it was the sound I made when the designers at Nissan took the 2004 Xterra, looked at it and said, "So what do you guys think about the Titan?"

The 2005 Nissan Xterra continues the theme of the original – everything you need, nothing you don’t. But now truer than ever.

The Xterra utilizes a modified version of the “F-Alpha” platform, developed for the full-size Nissan Armada and full-size Nissan Titan pickup, tailored to suit this application. For its use in Xterra, the platform utilizes an independent double-wishbone front and rigid leaf spring rear suspension, standard 4.0-liter DOHC V6 rated at 250-plus horsepower and 270-plus lb-ft of torque, and a choice of 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmissions. The 2005 Xterra is available in 4WD or 2WD with an available enhanced off-road system.

Xterra’s exterior styling evokes that of the original, including a highly functional roof rack (now with latchable lid). Inside, the 2005 Xterra offers exceptional room, especially in 2nd row head room and leg room, and enhanced utility of the multi-flex cargo area – including an easy-to-clean luggage area and an adjustable channel system in the cargo floor.

Have you seen one yet Jayson? I am anxious to see one in person and drive it. Keep doin the damn PDI's on the 04's Hoping the next truck load will have one of the 3 vehicles with the 4.0 in it. I had one of my techs inschool this week .He had engine mechanical so hopefully he will have had exposure to it so he can fill us in. I wont see him till tuesday.

no luck on him having exposure but he did get the oppertunity to slam a timing chain on a VK56.[for educational purposes]
