My 2005 nissan sentra, for some reason every time i turn it on. It just cranks and cranks. it takes me three times for the vehicle to start. it turns on every time but idk what to do my mechanic says its my mass air , Please help?

sounds like it cranks fine.

How many miles are on the car... if it's anything close to or over 100k can use plugs.

if it's a 2.5, it might be a crank sensor...they are plastic in a place with oil...it happens the oil gets in there and the computer can't see the right time to fire and will take a long time or will not start at all. I don't know if the 2.0 suffers from the same problem.

a way to look, if you are up to it or a mechanic can do it see if there is oil in the connector for the crank sensor. don't need to remove nothing just disconnect it real quick for a look.

Well my Nissan is a 1.8 s with 73k. Could it still be that sensor?

There should be a bulletin on "Long Crank Time Before Start" for your Sentra....I think it is for 2005 as well. It is and updated fuel sending unit assy called "Fuel Pump Repair Kit" you can get it from the dealer. Basically the vehicle leaks down fuel pressure back into the tank and has a long crank time. Hope this helps.
