I am a current Versa owner wishing I had a bit more power behind my pedal...

My question for all of you is this. For those of you who have an SE (5-speed), what about the SE-R makes you wish that you had it instead?

Also, other than the trim, the wheels, the shocks, and intake exhaust (all things that i can upgrade on my own fairly easily) what is truly different about the SE-R. I know that it has a 6-speed as opposed to the 5, and that the seats are a bit different. Is there anything else?

Is it worth waiting (and paying the 2 or 3k premium) for an SE-R?

The SE-R was limited to only the 05-06 model Altima's to boost sagging sales. Since the introduction of the new generation (07+) Altima, sales have increased dramatically so I highly doubt an SE-R version will ever become available.

But to answer your question: yes, the extra dough is money well spent for the SE-R badging. Not only do you get all the things you listed, the front fascia/bumper is also different, along with smoked tails. And you also get special SE-R stitching on the SE-R only colored leather interior. Not to mention the BOSE upgraded stereo system. So the extra few thousand is worth it in my opinion.
