The front dif is a dana 44 HP & rear is a 9 with posi, 4.11 gearing.I'm looking at 14 inches of lift with 39's under the X. I'll need to upgrade the gears but just don't have the $$$ right now.I'm more or less taking a 79 bronco suspension and throwing it under the X. The factory diffs suck and the lifts are cashy for IFS. The project is going to cost around 3 grand. I will always be upgrading till i'm happy, but i just need to get it road worthy for right now with SAS.

looks like you have a nice project ahead of you! can't wait to see finished pics.

what shocks are you going with? leaf springs in front?

in the pic of the painted front axle, are the arms bolt on with bushings? no weld on brackets?

Can't wait to see the completed SAS......I think you might be among some of the first people to do up a Gen 2 Xterra.

Now i just need to figure out the brake lines....Going with 9 in lift bronco coils, 400 spring rate.I alreagy have the steering box, yota, will also be installed this weekend.

Since the 2005+ are Rack and pinion, what are you doing for a steering box?

Oh, if only the TX10A crawler gears would go into a 2005+ electonic case.

Kudos on dumping the junk stock axles. I'll take my H233B's any day over that POS Dana 44 variant on the 2005+. Dozens of those things have failed, and the aluminum R180's have been cracking like eggs too. Nissan really screwed up not keeping the old H233B/R200A combo on the 2nd gens.

I'm using a steering box out of a early 4 Runner.I'll have the box mount this weekend. Plus have the axlesunder the X. Just no tires, coils (back order), and drive shafts. So little time and so much work still!

I'm changing the front setup to a 3 Link.I was going to run ford radius arms but just didn'ttrust it. So i scraped the front f-150 D44, for a f-250 D44.Ordered all the parts and start rebuild in a week or 2 weeks.
