2005 QX56 Navigation

Just picked up an '05 QX56 last night with 38,000 miles. It appears that it has the old navigation still loaded...what is the newest version for this model? How do I tell what version is currently loaded and if I do get a new disc...where do you insert the disc...in the CD player? As you can tell this is my first car with a Nav....

Greetings from the staff here at NICOclub! Welcome to the Armada / QX55 Forum. There is a link to the company that supplies the software and discs for Nissan right on Nissan's website. The DVD rom drive for the Nav is located under the passenger seat. I believe if you eject the DVD it will have the version printed on it.

FYI, when you upgrade to a newer version, everything pretty much looks the same, just the road and map data is all updated. Also, you will find that they are not cheap. If you can find a used disc containing the latest version, go that route, but be aware of copies. Also, there are 2 discs to complete the upgrade to the new version. One to "flash" the drive, and another is the actual nav disc.
