It appears that the bottom of the rear panel snaps into place, but the top screws in sideways. There is a trip piece over the screws. I wish I would have checked before I popped the rear panel off. Now the place where that panel screws in was split by the screws because I pried it off. I don't know how to get the trim pieces off to replace the screws. The diagrams I have found are no help at all. Can anyone help? I just want to put the thing back together now.
Welcome to NICOclub! Glad to have you here in the Armada/QX56 Forum!
Sorry to hear about your problem with your center console! It would probably help if you could take a picture of what is together and what isn't together. You have the same console I had on my '04 QX56 and I did take it apart twice, here is what I can tell you:
- the first step in accessing where the rear seat heater buttons is to remove the hinged top of the console.
- then I believe there are a few screws (under the rectangular rubber stoppers) with a hex head (use a small socket) to remove these screws
- you need to then reach to the bottom of the console, and there is a rubber like divider (where you place your CD's and other things).........simply pull this out, it is literally just sitting on the bottom, once you pull this out, you see a few more screws, pull those out as well
- Once you do this, you can pull out the inside of your center console, and you will be able to see the rear heater switches and pop the switch back in place.
Let me know if this helps, if you want, you can e-mail me a picture and I can help direct you. Good luck, and I hope this helps!
