Haven't posted in awhile.

My rain sensor sensitivity is very poor.

Takes a lot of rain droplets before the thing will activate.

I can twist through the gamut of sensitivity settings but only sporadic and limited activity.

A former Infinity dealer mechanic told me that the sensors (dash mounted) are a really poor design and you have no real options. Is this true?

Anybody know if they have an updated sensor that would work better since 2005?

I searched for service bulletins, and only found this one... probably not a whole lot of help, but it's all I could find.

If you want to check out the FSM it's located at www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

Good luck!

Spoke to the Infinity part dept and the guy indicated that each model of car has its own sensor. Seems a bit odd to me, but if anybody else has found a solution (retrofit from another Infinity model) to improve sensitivity, I would like to learn about it.

I attempted to recalibrate the rain sensor which is actually found up near the rear view mirror and not on the dash as the "former" Infinity mechanic had told me.

You pop-off the cover (Q45 FSM) and then while pressing the recalibration button turn the ignition from OFF - ON.

Once you release the recalibration button the recalibration process begins and is supposed to blink Green when completed.

But all I get is a red and green blinking simultaneously.

That apparently means the sensor is bad but I'm not 100% sure that the sequence I am using to recalibrate is correct.

Anybody have knowledge or experience with the rain sensor recalibration methodlogy.

I don't have anything beyond what's in the FSM. Pretty cool feature, but it sure adds a lot of complexity to an otherwise simple system...
