Looking to possibly purchase a 05 Q45 with 67k miles.
It is a 1 owner, no accidents nor paint work
only dealer serviced with all updated service records
It has premium package on it.
Owner is asking 18k. I OFFERED 15.5k is this a low ball offer or is it a fair offer?
Thanks
I'm a toyota and honda owner
92 toyota previa
02 lexus lx470
03 acura nsx
Is there anything I should look for as I do the inspection?
Any help and advice will be appreciated.
Hope to join this form with a such rare and last model car made.

Happy Motoring

The 02 s had some oil consumption issues. I have 229k on mine and yeah, it's always like a little oil.
THe 05 is a nice car.
check the variuos blue book, kelly etc for prices. there aren't enough of them selling to be able to say just off the top of my head.
THe values are low, but it is a great car.

I think that is not a super low baller, since these cars are not out there very much their value suffers...they are not looked at as "rare" but mostly "what they heck is that thing." That all said by 05' they had gotten alot right, however, for 05' and only 5 speed infinti was still behind the curve of the rest of the world that were already up to 6 or 7 speeds.

I would get an extended warranty if I were you if I bought this car, stick to 15.5 and go up to 16.5 maybe. It will not fly off the shelt, but it is a great car. Many honda and toyota owners don't know that Nissan is ever bit as good in the reliability department, it is all I own and I can count on one finger in the last 28 years the amount of times I have been stranded by a break down, and that wasn't even my cars fault.

I bot mine last year... It had 40k and was a premium pkg, new tires.... $21300... If that helps any.... Just have to eval the car and decide how bad ya want it.... As I stated earlier, my 05 is a dream on the interstate... I prefer the 99t around town as the 05 just has too much power for city....

Also, it's out of Infiniti factory warranty so you won't be able to extend that.... Mine had 48k factory warranty left.....

Hi Guys,
I am new here. I just purchased a 2005 Q with 53K. Paid $15.6K for the car + tax. I think it is a fair deal.
$15.5K is not a low ball offer. Are you buying this one from a dealer or private?
Nice body kit , Mcrews by the way.

Rickjman,
thanks for the props. Got the IMPUL full body kit in 2005.
I would say that your 05 w/ 53k is a very good deal at 15.6

I bought my 02 w/ about 40k on it. I had Infiniti Warr until 70k. I did buy a warr off the internet good to 100k w/100 deduc paid 17 or 1800. I used it 4 times. each repair was in excess of $1000.00 and I paid $100.
What is teally surprising is that sisnce that last repair at 101,000 the next 'failure' of an expensive 'warrentee type' repair was around 180k and the tire pressure modual quit after about 30 minutes on the road. The second 100k has been great. I am at 229,000 now.

Hi Mcrews,

Thanks. Prior to getting my Q, I did some research on reliability of the Q45. Most of the sites I looked at indicated "minimal problems".
I thought about getting some type of warranty but ended up not due to the steep depreciation. I had my friend mechanic looked at it
the next week after I got the car and everything checked out good expect the drive and AC belts. Wow your Q has 230K on it. This car is reliable but if something goes out repair would be costly huh? The warranty you bought is well worth it.

I have been trying so hard to find a way to get Ipod interface through the factory stereo but no luck. I've looked at the Parrot, iSimple, USA Spec and a few others but none of them make a harness kit for 02- Q45. man. why is it so hard to get one.

On the 05 you were looking at the only reason for the warranty is not mechanical... Electrical, that is the biggy.... My Q has probably 25k of electronics on it.... A problem, some of these gagets could easily pay for the car not only the warranty.... And the only place you can get many of these toys fixed is the stealershp so, the warranty is a valuable necessity.... Thats why my 05 was a little more costly than I would have liked.... Smart cruise, nav, etc etc etc.... I have the extended factory warranty which you can only get if your Q is still in factory warranty.... Treated like a new car at Infiniti....

And there are supposed to be 06 q45s but I think those were few and far between and were really just left over production from 05.... So it is the last of the flagships.... Like the west I just had to have one before they were gone.... Had mine for 8 months and only put 3600 miles on it... It likes the interstates and loves Kansas roads... They have some real mirrors up there.... I gotta be careful up there in my Q, no sound, no wiggles, no bumps and all of a sudden no awake.....

That's the PARROT MKi9100 Advanced Bluetooth/IPOD/Mp3 player. I had the Ck3100 prior but it just bluetooth the phone.
The little remote on the consol works great- answer calls, scroll songs, phoebook from phone is downloaded. Plus all the settings, voice dial by name(already in phonebook no training!!) Equalizer that will add more bass.

Mcrews,
I purchased the Mki9200 a few weeks ago because it was on sale. I took it to Frys for installation but the guys said it would cost $350 to
install. Then he said it would even have fully functional - volume would be lower, only the two front speakers used for bluettooth etc. what a bs. i might return the parrot. Sounds like yours works fine huh?

Jrthrum, what type of electrical issues have u had? 25K worth of repairs? scary @ ! @

I think jrthrum was just saying the potential for repair.

There is a 'hack" for the 02-06 Q and the 03-04 M45

If the Q45 is in excellent condition and has a solid maintenance record you should be in good shape with an '05. The '06 model years are difficult to come by....and it seems as though many people are just holding on to them making them even more difficult to acquire. The minor exterior changes on the 05/06 Q45 makes them look much more modern than the 02-04. :)

I live in Southern CA and that's where I got my Q.

So you are trying to buy one from a private party... then $15.5 is definitely not a low ball offer.

Seldomseen,
you are right about 06 Qs are pretty rare. So are 05s. I was looking for a 05/06 Q for quite a while. I did not think twice
when I found my 05 Q. So far I am pretty happy with it.

No repairs, the car has about 25k of toys in it at Infiniti stealership rates if something goes wrong...

I have really had no problems with my 99t and the 05 only 3600 miles on my watch... I did change the rubber bushings on the front suspension for better tire alignment... My 99t is a little hard on tires...

My 05 had new Capital tires on it... I thought oh no, but with a little research I found that Capital is the parent company behind several of the best brand name tires... I had never heard of them.... They ride like a dream.....

Do you happen to know the "hack"?

I have a Peripheral system with an HD Radio and would love to couple it to the BOSE but the company says "no way".
