Guys I am looking to put aftermarket wheels and tires on my 2005 PF LE.It is good to see that a few companies make them now. Discount tire as a few for 20". What is the consensus as far as 18" vs 20" ? Does anyone have either? I know it is all about what the owner likes but I dont want to look too radical. Chrome vs alloy? etc. For size I have had many answers from people. The 2 up plus size (I have 17" now) is a 285/50/20. However discount says that they run caliber up front and they have used 255/50/20.But that would drop the height a great deal I would think. I went to a web site where they put package deals together and they suggest 280/50/20 on the rear and a 275/45/20 up front. Any thoughts???????? Any good sites you can suggest that may carry wheels? I tend to want to go with regular allow if I go 20" to tone it down. Maybe chrome in an 18".

thank you!

Kevin

Welcome to NICO Kevin...

Unfortunately I cannot help you much more than what Tire Rack or Discount tire recommends as far as tire size.

For reference stock size is 265/65-17... with about a 30in OD..

You might check with some our sponsors, they may carry wheels... really good quality wheels that they get a little cheaper than other places even like tirerack.

Personally I woudlnt go with a chrome wheel, however its all about how much they weigh. Weigh the stock wheel and tire combo and then limit yourself to no more than 20lbs heavier for your aftermarket setup... I dont think your customer will think the 18 is enough wheel......

Bolt pattern is 6X139.7, at least thats what it is on EVERY OTHER YEAR pathfinder, i looked up a 2004 i think... I cant imagine theyd change it.

FOrtunately it looks to be the same bolt pattern as most GM trucks, which means you have unlimited wheel options. Offsets even are close.. From there its just finding what you like.. As far as offset, for reference id look for about 15mm offset (10-20 being acceptable) for an 8in wide wheel

The 2005/06 Pathfinder is a totally different vehicle. The wheel is not at all the same and wheels previous to 2005 do not fit. You can call Discount tire or your dealer. In fact the odd thing is that the newer pathfinder bolt pattern fitment is the same for the 2005/06 PATHFINDER, DODGE DAKOTA DURANGO and XTERRA - ONLY.

The bolt pattern for the 2005 is 6x4.5

ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT NISSAN PATHFINDERFRONTIER XTERRA 05-06 MODELS16" or 17" x7"6 Lug on 4 1/2Offset 30MM

6x4.5 is about 6x114.3mm or so... Good luck finding some wheels... I learned something today

I run a set of Toyo Open Country's on my Jeep. They are available in most rim sizes from 15" to 24". They are a well engineered tire. Dry and wet performance including braking and handling is excellent. I've spent the week commuting in both torrential rains and heavy fog without having to slip the truck in to 4x4 mode. The tires are quiet, the ride is much improved, its not bad in light off-road duty and its pretty good in snow and ice.

The only drawback is that the treads don't last a very long time, especially if your driving long distances everyday and since its a premium tire, it costs a bit more than others.
