Background: Purchased truck used so no history of tires being rotated ever!

Issue: Recently had front pads and rotors replaced and tires rotated, noticed a vibration at 75 mph, didn't think much of it but started to get worse as speed increased. Needless to say now when driving between 75-90 mph the entire truck vibrates so much it makes my teeth hurt. Once i hit 90 it stops! Its already cost me one speeding ticket, so speeding isn't an option, but where i live 80 is cruising speed.

Done so far: Shop who did brake job said my tires were out of balance, had the tires balanced, no change. Rotated tires back to original config and every other possible combination and no change in vibration.

Went to a tire shop and took the Mgr for test drive since they won't test drive over the speed limit and said my tires are unevenly worn and i need new tires. Of course he wants me to buy new tires but i still have 10-15k left on the tread so not buying it. besides any un-evenness in the tread is not even noticeable to the naked eye.

I'm looking for some advice on other possible things that could be wrong that I haven't tried or if anybody else has ever had this problem. I commute 60+ miles everyday for work and its getting old really fast.

TIA,Somber

any idea where the shaking is coming from? middle of car, steering wheel, suspension etc.

i know for my pathy, i had shaking from the middle of the car it seemed at highway speeds, and upon further inspection i did, there are weights that are welded to your drive-shaft to make it balanced, and one of them had fell off, so i took it out and took it to a drive-shaft balancing place and for approx. 75$ they balanced it and rewelded the weight back on and no vibration, so it might be that. just my 2 cents

I can't isolate it exactly but I would say Front to middle and no specific side.

I'll take a look at the drive shaft and see if i can spot anything missing?

Visual inspection yielded nothing to my untrained eye.

Took it to Nissan and my front u-joint was shot. Removed temporarily until the part comes in, now its a 2x4 instead of a 4x4 but the vibration is totally gone. The only thing that makes the mirrors vibrate now is my music!

Also i got lucky, it was covered under their drive train warranty. I read in other forums that it will cost around $400 to be fixed at the dealer yet it can be done by a handy diy'er.

well then i guess my driveshaft response was close enough , and great that you got it fixed under warranty.

I purchased a used 2003 Pathfinder with 188k miles. It had a slight vibration above 45mph. At 201k the vibration had gotten much worse. I installed some after market locking hubs. It took about an hour for the install and it solved the problem completely.
