Hi -
I have a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder with a blower motor issue. It started a while back where the fan would not come on immediately, but usually after driving 10-15 minutes, it would. Now, it never comes on regularly, but randomly in 1 out of 30 trips, might just come on out of the blue.
I have researched this forum and others and tried to diagnose all the things listed here. Here is what I have done, in order:
1.) Checked Fuses (all appear intact, there are several under the hood labelled "FR BLWR" or similar, but they are all working).
2.) Checked the relay (replaced the relay with another relay in the car that was the same model number, rating, etc. and nothing, so doesn't appear to be the relay).
3.) Replaced the VBC (I have automatic temp. control) with a OEM part from Nissan, still not working.
4.) Replaced the entire blower motor with aftermarket part, but still not working.
5.) I am not an expert with the voltmeter, but have attempted to take readings both from the connection TO the VBC and TO the blower motor, and appear to be getting sufficient power at both locations.
I'm at a loss, but wanted to see if there is a.) something I am missing that needs to be checked, and b.) if anything above needs to be reperformed as it was sufficient the first time.
I know this is a long shot, but does anything need to be reset after replacing parts? I know these days with all the computers onboard, if something threw an error code somewhere that the VBC was out or something, is there anything that needs to be reset after replacing parts?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer, these forums have already been a wealth of information in the past.
Regards,
SDC
