Well I hate for my first post to be of this nature, but I'm posting on behalf of my father. About a year ago he purchased a new 2005 SE-R, fast forward to last month, he comes out of Staples (in Venice, FL for anyone who cares) from shopping to find the fire department called to put out his car. The police took the car to perform thier duties and find the source of the fire to have been the driver's side seat heater circuit. The car is taken by Nissan for investigation and they come to say that it somehow wasn't their fault. My father just turned it over to his insurance to let Allstate's lawyers deal with this and they come to some interesting information about a similar problem in the Maxima. Allstate doesn't even know where to send it since none of their shops will do fire damage and everywhere I know is decent says the same thing, so it's awaiting a tow truck to come fetch it so they can deal with it. At any rate, I was wondering if anyone else has heard of something like this. At the moment it's amusing to hear about the community association not liking a burnt out car left out since they're going to fetch it "sometime soon."
Pictures will be forthcoming if I can motivate him to take some... I want to see it as much as anyone else.
Thanks,Mike
