Hi,

I bought a 2005 Alitma in 2007 and have changed the tires 2x already. The first time I changed all 4 and in less than 6 months they were all worn out. Then I had them replaced in Novevember and did an alignment at the same time. Now the back tires are worn out, but the front tires are in tack. The mechanic is saying it's the car and the private dealer I bought it from says it needs an alignment. What should I do?

Sounds like your either keeping your tires at the wrong pressure, or something is off with your alignment - do you rotate regularly?

How many miles did you drive in those 6 months? Tire pressure? Was the alignment done correctly? What type of alignment (two wheel, thrust, or four wheel)? What brand tires?

Lots of things affect tire wear, so it's going to take a lot more information for anybody to help you out. If all the tires wore evenly in that amount of time, it's alignment or tire pressure being WAY off.

defiantly need to know the mileage. it sounds like an alignment problem, specifically with toe in or out.

I bought the car at just over 40,000 KM. The first set of tires were changed at 46,476 KM then replaced at 64,432. It's now just over 72,000 KM. After changing the tires the first time I was not charged for an alignment so I am assumming it wasn't done and the second time I am not sure if the alignment was done correctly as I did not get a print out. I just assumed it was the tires. I was charged for 4-wheel alignment. The tires are Bridgestone tires, Turzana EL400-02 V. I have a print out that the air pressure was set at 34 for all 4 the first time they were changed. Again, I don't have a print out for the second time they were changed.

Does that help? Any thoughts? How do you think I should handle the situation with the mecahnic that did the job?

Can you tell me about "toe in or out?"

I rotated the tires once after putting on the first set shortly after buying the car, but since they were replaced the 2nd time I haven't rotated the tires because the front tires are in great shape and don't show any sign obeing worn down, but the back ones are just about bald. If I rotate, then the front ones will wear if they are put on the back and I con't put worn down tires on the front as the car is a front wheel drive.

Do you have any other suggestions? Please share.
