2005 Murano with NO SOUND!

I was driving along at night listening to the radio ... when all of a sudden...POP!....then all speakers stopped working...and I smelled burning electronic oder.

Radio / CD /Nav all work fine. Just no sound.

I've located the amplifier assuming that this is the culprit...Even took it apart...no signs of anything burned or charred.

Took the car to my local car stereo shop...They still think it's the amp. They tested power going into the amp...says there's power.

I pulled radio out of the dash...looking for burned wiring...but all looks fine.

Any ideas on what burned and where? Could problem be inside the radio? I really want to stick with the factory stereo setup...because all integrates with the LCD.

Its either the amplifier or the radio.

Look inside the tape deck, see if there's some loose change in there. If you have small children, there's a good bet that's what happened
